Working with Schools

One of the vitally important areas where our members can become involved is the work we undertake with schools.

The activities we are involved in range from workshops and role play with primary school children, through to presentations for secondary school children. We have undertaken a number of these activities in the past but are currently reviewing our work. Therefore, if you are particularly interested in this side of SWWIC there are lots of opportunities to shape the way we bring the construction industry into schools.

Raising the Profile

Although SWWIC's aims are focused on school work we are also keen to raise the profile of both the industry and career opportunities for women. The construction industry offers a huge array of career choices, there are worldwide opportunities with excellent prospects. We at SWWIC are working to get this message across.

Being Active in The Industry

Representation at industry events is also important. SWWIC is a professionally run organisation and we therefore feel it is important to maintain a presence at as many local industry events as possible. This combined with our members publicising us helps to raise the profile of women in construction.
