Concrete Society Annual Lunch 2006 - Reputed to be the 'Last Male Bastion'

A number of SWWIC members and their guests enjoyed a lively lunch at the Annual Concrete Society Lunch on Friday 29th January. The lunch was held this year at St Mellion Golf Club, Cornwall and saw a good turnout from the Industry. SWWIC were proud to be flying the flag for women in our industry with only two other female attendees amongst the sea of chaps in suits! The enjoyable meal was followed by a light-hearted speaker, a Professional golfer from The Belfry. He was somewhat surprised by the presence of females and had to moderate his stories and tales in places. A good laugh was had by all, even if just at his embarrassment!! It also gave an opportunity for SWWIC members to network with many people from our industry especially from the Plymouth and Cornwall end of our region. Thank you to the Concrete Society for extending the invitation to SWWIC.
