Understanding Social Value event - 22nd April 2021

Thursday 22nd April

Microsoft Teams

Increasingly, organisations are considering their activities holistically, taking account of the wider economic, social and environmental effects of their actions. Organisations which make a conscious effort to ensure that these effects are positive can be seen as adding ‘social value’ by contributing to the long-term wellbeing and support of individuals, communities and society as a whole. Now more than ever, many Public sector clients in Construction are asking companies to define and measure their commitments and this event aims to help understand some of the ways you can do this.

Willmott Dixon’s Assistant Community Liaison Manager, Danielle Haskings, will aim to look at the definition of Social Value and why it is important to implement it within your business. She will then look at The Social Value Portal and their National TOMs framework by discussing what it is and how this can be used to calculate social return on investment (SROI).

Finally, Danielle will give us an insight into Willmott Dixon’s approach to social value by looking at examples of how they plan and deliver their commitments.

Members and non-members are welcome; please email info@swwic.co.uk to book your place and receive the MS Team invite.
