Emma has been a member of SWWIC for over 10 years and a committee member since 2015. Emma joined the committee as Treasurer in 2015 with a brief break in 2108 while she was on maternity leave. Emma, who was previously Vice Chair, became Chair in January 2024, a position where she hopes to build upon the success and growth seen in recent years.
Emma gained her degree in Quantity Surveying on a distance learning basis from the University College of Estate Management in 2012 and became a chartered member of the Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2015. Emma is now an Associate Cost Consultant at Arcadis leading a team of Cost Consultants in the South West whilst working on a number of interesting housing and regeneration schemes. Emma has been lucky enough to have worked on some fascinating high profile projects throughout her career including a new footbridge at Tintagel and The Box, Plymouth’s exciting new Museum.
Emma is passionate about promoting Construction as an engaging and dynamic career choice for young people and uses her time as a STEM ambassador to raise awareness of the variety of roles available. Emma is also the South West Regional Chair for Matrics helping young surveyors to build their network and achieve their career aspirations.
Outside of work Emma enjoys her time walking in the country with her family and cycling!!
