Sam spent over 20 years in the Education sector where she progressed to school Senior Leadership and Headteacher level. While leading curriculum projects at school, Sam discovered a passion for the Built Environment and developed a growing concern for the limited options for young people to learn about careers available within the industry.
This fuelled Sam in her endeavours to promote construction as a career choice as she went on to lead an Award winning Built Environment specialist school with a curriculum tailored to careers in construction.In facilitating students with an opportunity to access different learning opportunities and direct access to a variety of construction projects, she met some fantastic role models and ambassadors along the way.
This, accompanied by her own CPD and training and picking up an award herself, gave her the motivation to make the career change into the industry and she now works at BuildX. Here, as the Bid Manger and supporting strategic business development, she continues to be a champion of careers in construction.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys being outdoors and can be found paddleboarding, dog walking, horse-riding or participating in almost any outdoor pursuit that eventually ends with a double scoop of ice cream!
