Lighthouse Suicide Awareness Breakfast

According to recent reports, suicide rates in the construction industry have risen for the fifth year in a row with over 500 deaths by suicide reported in 2021 alone. Construction operatives are almost 4 times more likely to die by suicide than workers in other sectors and though support is available it seems the message isn’t reaching the people that need it.

SWWIC has invited Lorraine Shepherd from Lighthouse to join us to talk through the support and resources they can offer to construction businesses, their employees and crucially their families too. Lighthouse’s mission is to ensure that no construction worker or their family should feel alone in a crisis and are 100% dedicated to the construction community in the UK and Ireland providing free and easy access to a wide range of pro-active resources to support the wellbeing of our workforce.
We hope you can join us.
