The Plymouth and South Devon Freeport - Super Charging the Local Economy!

In March 2021, Plymouth and South Devon found out they had been successful to bid to be one of England’s eight freeports and since then, a public private partnership has been developed to lead this exciting initiative. Since then, they have developed and submitted outline and full business cases to HM Treasury, developed the site infrastructure and masterplans and have established a public private sector partnership to deliver the Freeport.

Caroline Cozens, Head of Strategic Programmes at Plymouth City Council has been at the heart of the development work as programme manager and will give us insight into:

  • The Plymouth and South Devon freeport and how it will super charge the local economy
  • Freeport incentives and benefits
  • The Ocean Futures Programme
  • The Freeports sites and masterplans
  • The target markets of high tech manufacture in Marine, Defence and Space
  • The investment pipeline including a Hydrogen plant.
